Jewelry Care
Congratulations on your perfect piece! Here are some tips and tricks to ensure your precious jewels stay pristine.
Solid gold is technically rarer than diamonds - and its value continues to rise. With its lasting lustre, natural scarcity, and resistance to tarnish, it’s the perfect foundation for a jewelry collection that’s truly heirloom-worthy. At Friday Sky, we use 14k solid gold, made with 58.33% pure gold and the rest strengthened with durable metals like silver and copper. Unlike gold-plated alternatives, solid gold offers superior cost per wear and is designed to last a lifetime.
Composed of 92.5% pure silver, Sterling Silver is durable enough for everyday wear while maintaining a bright, shiny finish. Additionally, it has hypoallergenic properties, making it suitable for most skin types.
18k Gold Vermeil. At Friday Sky, our vermeil features a thick layer of 18k solid gold (2.5 microns or more) expertly electroplated to 925 Sterling Silver. It’s five times thicker than standard plating - for lasting richness and elevated durability.
Rhodium on 925 Sterling Silver. Rhodium is a rare, highly valuable metal. This precision electroplating over sterling silver helps resist tarnish and adds a lasting, mirror-like shine.
Renowned for their unmatched brilliance and exceptional hardness, diamonds rank 10 on the Mohs scale - the highest possible. The unique beauty and durability of diamonds make them a timeless favorite in fine jewelry.
Natural Diamond. Formed deep within the Earth under immense pressure and heat over millions of years, a naturally formed diamond is truly one of a kind. All our diamonds are Kimberly Process compliant, ensuring ethical and conflict-free sourcing.
Lab Diamond. Approximately 90% of lab-grown diamonds are produced in China, which leads the industry in production. Though energy-intensive to create, they avoid soil disruption from mining altogether. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically identical to natural diamonds and are valued as an eco-friendly alternative.
Formed within oysters or mollusks, pearls are the only gemstones created by a living organism. Cherished for their smooth, lustrous surfaces and soft, captivating glow, pearls typically rate between 2.5 and 4.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. As a porous gemstone, they require delicate care to preserve their natural beauty.
