For significant diamonds (over 1 carat), we provide a grading report from a reputable independent laboratory - typically International Gemological Institute (IGI) or Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
For smaller stones, we provide a “Diamond Dossier,” a detailed summary of the stone’s quality.
We have released the same styles in both natural diamonds and lab grown variations so you can choose the materials that best align with your values.
They can be - but it depends. While lab-grown diamonds avoid mining, their environmental impact varies. Growing diamonds requires significant energy, and if fossil fuels are used, the carbon footprint can be high. That said, when powered by clean energy, lab diamonds can be a more sustainable option. We work with select partners for our lab diamonds. Though facilities may vary, we prioritize growers using renewable energy.
Natural diamonds, on the other hand, can be ethical when responsibly sourced. All Friday Sky natural diamonds are certified conflict-free under the Kimberley Process. We source from reputable regions such as Botswana, South Africa, Russia, and Canada, with cutting and polishing carried out in India.
Yes, our diamonds are compliant with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, preventing the trade in diamonds that finance armed conflict and human rights abuses.
Solid 14k gold is an investment in quality and longevity. It’s durable, hypoallergenic, and offers long-term value. With its lasting lustre, natural scarcity, and resistance to tarnish, it’s the perfect foundation for a jewelry collection that’s truly heirloom-worthy.
Our recycled gold starts as previously used jewelry, electronics, or industrial products, purified to 24-karat gold. From this, we create the 14-karat gold in every piece, with quality and purity equal to newly mined gold.
While it requires a higher upfront cost, it's more affordable than demi-fine or costume jewelry when considering the cost per wear over the years. With proper care, it’s a piece you can cherish forever.
Available only in Pearl Collection. 925 Sterling Silver offers the look of solid gold without the high price. Our pieces feature a thick 2.5-micron layer of rhodium - five times thicker than standard finishes - ensuring your jewelry stays radiant for decades with proper care. Naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic, silver is ideal for sensitive skin.
Friday Sky pieces are designed to fit seamlessly with our own collection. We can’t guarantee compatibility with other brands, but we provide dimensions in the product description to help you estimate.
Recycled 14k Solid Gold
Solid gold is technically rarer than diamonds - and its value continues to rise. At Friday Sky, we use 14k Solid Gold, made with 58.33% pure gold and the rest strengthened with durable metals like silver and copper. Unlike gold-plated alternatives, solid gold offers superior cost per wear and is designed to last a lifetime.
- Clean: Use a solution of warm water and mild dish soap. Soak gold jewelry, then gently brush with a soft toothbrush.
- Rinse and Dry: Rinse in a bowl of water and dry with a soft polishing cloth to avoid losing pieces down the drain.
- Avoid Chemicals: Remove jewelry before swimming, as chlorine can damage gold alloys. Apply lotions, perfumes, and sprays before putting on your jewelry to prevent fading or dulling.
- Storage: Store gold jewelry in a soft pouch or lined box to prevent scratches.
Diamonds
Renowned for their unmatched brilliance and exceptional hardness, diamonds rank 10 on the Mohs scale - the highest possible. The unique beauty and durability of diamonds make them a timeless favorite in fine jewelry.
Natural Diamond. Formed deep within the Earth under immense pressure and heat over millions (even billions) of years, a naturally formed diamond is a singular treasure -romantic and truly one of a kind.
Lab Diamond. Though energy-intensive to create, lab-grown diamonds are valued as a modern and eco-friendly alternative.
- Clean: Mix warm water with mild dish soap and soak your diamonds for a few minutes. Use a soft toothbrush to gently brush the jewelry.
- Rinse and Dry: Rinse diamonds in a bowl of water (to avoid losing them down the drain) and dry with a soft polishing cloth.
- Storage: Keep diamonds in a fabric-lined box or pouch to prevent scratches.
- Ultrasonic Cleaners: A small at-home ultrasonic cleaner can be an effective way to clean certain types of jewelry. However, use with caution - it may occasionally loosen stones. If that happens, you're covered under our 1-year warranty for loose stones.
Freshwater Pearl
Formed within oysters or mollusks, pearls are the only gemstones created by a living organism. Cherished for their smooth, lustrous surfaces and soft, captivating glow, pearls typically rate between 2.5 and 4.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. As a porous gemstone, they require delicate care to preserve their natural beauty.
- Clean: Gently wipe pearls with a soft, damp cloth after each wear to remove oils and dirt.
- No Rinsing in Water or Moisture Exposure: Pearls are more delicate than diamonds. Remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, or washing hands.
- Avoid Chemicals: Apply lotions, perfumes, and sprays before putting on your jewelry to prevent absorption.
- Storage: Store pearls in a dry place, using a soft cloth or pouch to prevent moisture damage.
- Ultrasonic Cleaners: Avoid using ultrasonic cleaners as the vibrations can crack or damage the nacre (the outer layer of a pearl).
